A Study Of The Development Of "Foreign Style" Architecture In Early Modern Beijing

The process of the spread of Western architectural culture in China is an important part of the study of modern Chinese architectural history,and compared to the pattern of "Western architectural culture input-traditional society response" exhibited by most Chinese cities in the modern era,the development of architecture in Beijing in the modern era was complicated by social changes.The complex vein of architectural development in Beijing in the modern era is due to social changes.This is especially true in the early modern period.In order to sort out the development of "foreign-style" architecture in Beijing in the early modern period,this paper is based on a socio-historical perspective,and focuses on the "foreign-style" architectural activities led by Chinese people by digging into the data and collecting the historical materials of miscellaneous architectural activities.The paper focuses on the Chinese man-led "foreign style" architectural activities.The paper discusses the weaknesses of the existing research on early modern architecture in Beijing,discusses the process of the importation of Western architectural culture,and focuses on the development pattern of the Chinese-dominated "foreign style" architecture,partially filling the gap in the existing research.At the same time,the practical significance of this historical study is that it provides a basis for assessing the historical value of heritage conservation and other work.This paper takes the "foreign style" architecture in Beijing in the early modern period as the research object,and summarizes the development of "foreign style" architecture through the collection of historical materials and conducts an in-depth study.The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter introduces the background of the thesis,the definition of relevant concepts,the overview of the development of Beijing modern architectural history research,the purpose and significance,the idea and framework,and the research method;the second chapter focuses on the phenomenon of "foreign style" architectural activities in Beijing in the early modern period,firstly,the historical background of Beijing in the early modern period and The second chapter focuses on the phenomenon of "foreign style" architectural activities in early modern Beijing,firstly,it explains the historical background and the development of "foreign style" architecture in early modern Beijing,then it selects the research objects for research and sorting,and summarizes the characteristics of the spatial and temporal development of "foreign style" architecture in early modern Beijing that they represent.Based on these characteristics,we will summarize the development and dissemination of "foreign style" architecture.Chapters 3 and 4 analyze the history of the development of "foreign style" architecture from two levels: "import" and "translation".Chapter 5 summarizes the clues of the development of "foreign style" architecture in the early modern period,explores the characteristics of the development of "foreign style" architecture in Beijing in the early modern period through comparison,and summarizes its development rules.
