With the comprehensive construction of a moderately prosperous society in China, people’s quality of medical services has also improved with the improvement of their quality of life. The medical needs of the public are no longer limited to treating diseases and alleviating pain. Therefore, hospitals should provide a comfortable medical environment and a relaxed and convenient medical experience. With the development of human society and changes in the spectrum of diseases, people have gradually realized the shortcomings of the original medical model and proposed the biological psychological social medical model. The practice shows that the design mode and components of "Spitalgasse",which is widely used in general hospitals, can better meet the needs of modern hospital mode operation. This paper selects the non-medical service space in Spitalgasse as the research object, because it is the part with the largest flow of people and the most complex personnel composition in the hospital, and in addition, most non-medical service spaces in China are still dominated by commercial function spaces at present, which has the defect of single function. Therefore, the research on the medical service space in Central Africa of Spitalgasse has certain theoretical and practical value. This paper first analyzes the development trend of China’s current medical building environment, and then takes the relevant theories of Spitalgasse and non medical service space as the cornerstone of the discussion.Based on the needs of different patients and the design principles of medical spaces, non medical service spaces are divided into five categories: transportation spaces, functional spaces, non functional spaces, aggregated leisure spaces, and commercial spaces, and optimized for design.Ultimately, the customization of functional spaces, efficient streamline design, and refinement of spatial quality for non medical service spaces were achieved. The optimization design strategy of the medical service space in Central Africa of Spitalgasse can improve the satisfaction of medical building users, provide more convenience and services for patients, caregivers and medical staff physically and psychologically, meet the human nature, comfortable, efficient and diversified treatment environment that people in the new era yearn for,and play a positive role in improving the quality of medical care for the people.
