Diagnosis And Treatment Of 60 Dogs With Pyometra In Jinzhou District,Dalian

Canine uterine pus is a disease of pyogenic substance accumulation in the uterus after inflammation or hyperplasia of the endometrium.If the dog is not timely diagnosis and treatment,it will cause multiple organ damage,and then lead to the death of the dog.In this study,60 cases of canine pyomeas diagnosed from June 2020 to December 2021 in Baobei Pet Hospital,Jinzhou District,Dalian city,Liaoning Province were collected and analyzed,and the characteristics and common points of pyomeas were obtained.Through clinical examination,routine biochemical examination of blood,color ultrasonic examination,X-ray examination,separation and identification of bacteria,drug sensitivity test of pathogenic bacteria,observation of pathological tissue section and selection of treatment plan,it provides necessary theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment of pyometriasis.In this study,the mean age of pyometra was 7.65 years,and the incidence was highest during the peak of estrus(spring and autumn)and one month after estrus.Overweight older dogs that have never been pregnant are more likely to develop the disease.Dogs often show purulent excrement from the vulva,listlessness,loss of appetite,poor response and other clinical conditions,some dogs have a sudden increase in abdominal circumference,like drinking water,and accompanied by increased urine volume,breathing rate deep and fast.WBC increased and RBC decreased in most of the blood routine examination indexes,CRP value increased and blood biochemical indexes showed diversification.On X-ray examination of the abdominal cavity,closed pyometra showed two dense images with displacement of other organs in the abdominal cavity.Color ultrasound diagnosis of pyometra found in the abdominal cavity in addition to the bladder,there will be one or several anechoic liquid dark areas,some liquid dark areas show sand-like substances.In drug sensitivity test,cephalosporins and quinolones had better control effect on pathogenic bacteria.At the time of treatment,5 of the 60 cases collected were resolved by conservative treatment,accounting for 8.33% of the total number of cases collected.55 cases were solved by surgical treatment,accounting for 91.67% of the total number of cases collected.A total of 58 of the60 cases were cured.Conclusion: Pyometra occurs in estrus and within a month after estrus.Overweight dogs without pregnancy experience should be more vigilant against the occurrence of this disease.Color ultrasound is the best method to diagnose the disease,and combined with routine blood biochemical,blood gas and other indicators to help assess the physical condition of the dog.The main pathogenic bacteria of pyometra in Jinzhou district of Dalian were Escherichia coli,cephalosporins and quinolones had better treatment effect.The best treatment for this disease is surgical excision of the diseased uterus and ovaries,which has the highest cure rate.
