| The promotion of animal husbandry technology,as an important part of agricultural technology promotion,is a key part of achieving agricultural modernization and plays an important role in promoting the development of animal husbandry and agricultural economy.In 2022,the autonomous region’s response to the "Proposal on Accelerating the Development of Animal Husbandry in Agricultural Areas" mentioned increasing the construction of animal husbandry technology platforms,accelerating the promotion and application of practical and effective technologies,and improving the capabilities of grassroots technical personnel.In 2023,it was pointed out in the "Suggestions on Promoting the High Quality Development of Xinjiang Grassland Animal Husbandry" that the current development of Xinjiang’s animal husbandry has shortcomings.Although the production and output value of Xinjiang’s mutton are constantly increasing,the production mode of animal husbandry is still mainly free range farming,and there is still a mismatch between supply and demand in mutton promotion technology,which leads to difficulty in promoting and implementing advanced breeding technology and low efficiency in technology promotion,This has restricted the development of modern animal husbandry and the revitalization of the meat sheep industry in southern Xinjiang.So,what is the current situation of supply and demand for the promotion of breeding technology among meat sheep farmers? What are the factors that affect the promotion needs of meat sheep farmers for different stages of technology? Are meat sheep farmers satisfied with technology promotion services after they have a demand for technology? What factors affect the satisfaction of meat sheep farmers with technology promotion? These are the urgent problems that need to be solved to revitalize the meat sheep industry in southern Xinjiang and drive the increase of income for farmers and herdsmen,which are of great significance.Therefore,this article starts from the current situation of the promotion of meat sheep breeding technology in southern Xinjiang,guided by the theory of farmers’ behavior,agricultural technology diffusion,and satisfaction theory.Descriptive statistical methods are used,combined with binary logistic regression models,to analyze and study the promotion needs of different meat sheep farmers for breeding technology and their satisfaction with technology promotion services,and to identify their influencing factors,Furthermore,it provides a reference basis for establishing a more comprehensive technology promotion system for meat sheep farming in the southern Xinjiang region,meeting the needs of meat sheep farmers for technology promotion,and improving the satisfaction of technology promotion services.Through research,the following main conclusions have been drawn:1.Through survey data,it was found that 13.9% of the surveyed sheep breeders had no demand for the promotion of the seven sheep breeding technologies selected in this study;Among the 310 sample farmers who have a demand for the promotion of meat sheep breeding technology,the strongest demand is for the promotion of meat sheep variety improvement technology,and the highest satisfaction is with the promotion of enclosure construction technology;During the investigation process,it was also found that there are still certain problems in the promotion of meat sheep breeding technology in the southern Xinjiang region,which need to be continuously improved and improved.2.The empirical analysis of factors influencing the demand of sheep breeders shows that:(1)in the southern Xinjiang region,the higher the education level,the younger the age,and the more willing the sheep breeders are to accept the promotion of breeding technology as village cadres.They have a strong demand for technology promotion in various stages and are eager to have new breeding technologies;(2)The higher the income of meat sheep farmers in the southern Xinjiang region,the stronger the demand for the promotion of meat sheep breeding technology;(3)The more farmers who have joined animal husbandry cooperatives and participated in training on meat sheep farming techniques,the more eager they are to receive new promotion of meat sheep farming techniques;(4)Meat sheep farmers have a greater demand for the promotion of breeding techniques that have a stronger supporting effect;(5)Subsidies are provided for the newly promoted breeding technology,which can increase economic benefits.Meat sheep farmers are more willing to accept the promotion of this technology;(6)The higher the proportion of income from sheep farming,the stronger the demand for the promotion of breeding technology among sheep farming households.3.The empirical analysis of the influencing factors on the satisfaction of sheep breeders shows that:(1)the younger the age and higher the education level of sheep breeders,the higher their satisfaction with technology promotion services;(2)Meat sheep farmers have high satisfaction with the technology promotion services of animal husbandry cooperatives and animal husbandry stations,but low satisfaction with the technology promotion services of universities,enterprise institutions,and leading enterprises;(3)The stronger the explanation ability of technical promotion personnel,the better the service attitude,and the higher the number of training sessions for meat sheep farmers,the higher the satisfaction of farmers;(4)Meat sheep farmers are more satisfied with the promotion methods of on-site explanation and centralized training;(5)The more channels available to obtain new farming technology information,the more convenient it is,and the easier it is to use new technologies.The higher the satisfaction of meat sheep farmers.Based on the above survey and empirical analysis conclusions,in order to better meet the needs of meat sheep farmers for the promotion of meat sheep breeding technology,improve their satisfaction with the promotion service of meat sheep breeding technology,assist in the promotion of meat sheep breeding technology in southern Xinjiang,and promote the revitalization of the meat sheep industry in southern Xinjiang,the following policy suggestions are proposed:(1)Strengthen technical education and training to improve farmers’ cognitive ability of breeding technology;(2)Enrich the promotion content of aquaculture technology to meet the needs of farmers for technology promotion;(3)Improve the professional level of technical promotion personnel and enhance the satisfaction of farmers. |
