Clinical Study Of "TongDu-Tiaoren" Acupuncture Method In The Treatment Of Mild To Moderate Post-Stroke Depression

Purpose:Obsevering the clinical effecacy of the acupuncture method of "Tong Du-Tiao Ren" on patients with mild to moderate post-stroke depression.The effeacacy was evaluated from sleep quality,degree of neurological impairment and ability of daily living activities.To discuss the advantage of the acupuncture method of "Tong Du-Tiao Ren" in the cure of mild to moderate post-stroke depression,to provide reference and new idea for the cure of patients with mild to moderate post-stroke depression.Methods:64 patients who achieved the inclusion and exclusion criteria were separated into the experimental team and the control team stochasticly,and each team has 32 cases.Both teams were given basic cure,the experimental team was given acupuncture method of "Tong Du-Tiao Ren",and the control team was given sham acupuncture cure.The patients were treated once a day and rested one day after 6 cures.The patients were treated 24 times in 4weeks.The patients were evaluated by Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Barthel Index(BI)and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS).After the cure,the scores were statistically analyzed to compare the distinction of the curative impact between two teams.Results:Five cases were lost.Two cases were lost in experimental team.Three cases were lost in control team.Finally,30 cases in the experimental team and 29 cases in the control team finished the cure.The results are as follows:1.Before the cure,The distinction of general imformation(age,gender,course of sickness,stroke type)between two teams wasn’t statistically significant.(P>0.05).2.Before the cure,The distinction of HAMD score,SDS score,NIHSS score,PSQI score and Barthel index between two teams wasn’t statistically significant.(P>0.05).3.After the cure,HAMD score,SDS score,NIHSS score,PSQI score and Barthel index were compared between the two teams.After the cure,HAMD score,SDS score,PSQI score,and NIHSS score were lower in the experimental team after treatment than those in the control team.There were statistically significant distinction in HAMD score,SDS score and PSQI score between two teams(P < 0.01,P < 0.05),while there were no statistically significant distinction in NIHSS score(P>0.05)and BI score(P>0.05).4.After the cure,HAMD score,Barthel index,PSQI score,SDS score and NIHSS score of the two teams were compared with those before the cure within the team.Statistical analysis showed that the HAMD score,SDS score,PSQI score and NIHSS score of the two teams after cure were lower than those before the cure,and the distinction were statistically significant(P<0.01,P <0.05).BI scores of the two teams after the cure were higher than before the cure,the distinction was statistically significant(P<0.01).5.After the cure,12 patients in the experimental team were clinically cured,8 were significantly valid,7 were valid and 3 were invalid.The total effective rate is 90.00%;5patients in the control team were clinically cured,6 were significantly valid,12 were valid and 6 were invalid.The total effective rate is 79.31%.The total efficiency of the experimental team was significantly higher than that of the control team,the distinction was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture method of "Tong Du-Tiao Ren" can improve the depressive state and sleep quality on patients with mild to moderate post-stroke depression.
