An Investigation And Analysis Of The Co-ccurrence Of Multiple Modifiers Before Noun-center In Modern Chinese

Based on self-built corpus statistics,this paper studies the compatibility and reaction conditions of more than 3 million words with multiple modifiers that precede a noun.The results are as follows:A.According to the statistics of the noun modifiers co-occurrence combination permutation order frequency,the co-occurrence order of different part of speech modifiers is as follows: pronoun → quantifier → noun →adjective → verb.B.At the phrase level,the co-occurrence ability of quantitative structure and other phrase groups as pre-noun modifiers is the strongest.C.The maximum number of co-occurrences of multiple modifiers that precede a noun is 7.D.Set the position of modifier 1 to the first,the pos ition of modifier 7 to the last,and the position of modifier 2-6 to the median,so on the distribution of parts of speech,quantifiers and pronouns tend to be in the first place,while nouns,verbs and adjectives are the last;in terms of phrases,quantit ative structure,concurrent phrases and appositive phrases tend to be in the first place.Summarizing the above rules and analyzing them,this paper believes that they are mainly restricted by the following four factors:A.Semantically,multiple modifiers of the same part of speech that can modify the same noun together cannot be exclusive in the same dimension.B.Through the quantifiers or is the co-occurrence of investigation,quantitative structure on semantic "quantity" harmonious modifiers can modify nouns in the form of multiple modifiers.C.Pragmatically,the transfer of modifier attributes can make the anti-rule modifiers group together to modify nouns.D.Cognitively,modifier between "bounded" and "unbounded" must be consistent to co-occurrence.Finally,through the analysis of the co-occurrence of multiple modifiers precede a noun,this paper concludes: semantically,multiple modifiers have the function of increasing and highlighting the semantic connotation of nouns and eliminating the ambiguit y of sentences;pragmatically,multiple modifiers have the function of expressing special emotions and some special rhetorical effects.
