| Legal translation is a very important subject in translation studies,while the translation of Constitution is of top priority.Since China grows stronger and stronger,many unfriendly comments emerge.To fight back those rumors,more and more translators devote themselves to constitutional studies and its translations.They aim to guard China’s image.The book From the Common Program to 1982 Constitution comprises a collection of articles about the history of Chinese Constitution written by Professor.Zhai Zhiyong from the Law School of Beihang University.Due to the seriousness of legal texts and the frankness of political texts,the combination of both features results in many problems.To prove that some strategies can be used to solve these problems,the translator conducts the translation practice,adopts the strategies under category theory.By doing this,the target readers can have the same reading experiences as native speakers do even if they lack professional knowledge.The report of the translation practice is divided into four parts.After explaining related background information,the translator adopts strategies under category theory to prove their effectiveness in guiding translation.Constitutions are legalized expressions of politics because they provide legal support for implementing various policies.The author adopts many expressions with Chinese characteristics so as to analyze political issues of different periods and express his own thoughts.It’s not easy to convey such expressions in a precise manner that foreign readers can comprehend.For this purpose,the translator adopts strategies of Category Theory 1)category substitution;2)category transition;and summarizes a new one 3)category explanation,combining them with expressions with Chinese characteristics and uses12 examples to discuss category differences under different situations and their corresponding translation techniques. |
