| In recent years,the continuous development of artificial intelligence and big data technology has promoted the transformation of the modern translation industry.The application of translation technology has changed the traditional translation model and greatly improved the production efficiency of the translation industry.Translation technology competence has become an important part of the modern translator’s competence system.Translation technology teaching has become an important topic of MTI education.However,according to the literature reviewed by the author,scholars at home and abroad mainly focused on the pedagogical practices research on translation technology,including the curriculum design of translation technology and teaching methods of different translation technology courses.The few existing survey researches are mostly focused on the needs of the language service industry and the translation technology application of professional translators,lacking a survey that investigates domestic MTI students about their cognition and application of translation technology.Therefore,as a supplement to existing research,the author investigated more than200 domestic MTI students about their cognition and application of translation technology.This report specifically aims to answer the following three questions:(1)What is the current situation of domestic MTI students’ cognition and application of translation technology?(2)What factors resist MTI students from cognizing and applying translation technology?(3)What suggestions and expectations do the MTI students have on translation technology learning and education?The survey results demonstrate that domestic MTI students have a clear cognition but a poor application of translation technology on campus.On the one hand,they lack the initiative to learn and apply translation technology.On the other hand,they think it’s unnecessary to use some translation technology in their daily translation practice.At the same time,the respondents also put forward their suggestions and expectations for translation technology learning and education.Based on the above-mentioned problems and findings,the author put forward corresponding suggestions to MTI students and MTI education.The author hopes that this survey can help domestic MTI students to learn and apply translation technology,improve the teaching mode of translation technology,and promote the teaching and development of translation technology. |
