Thematic teaching advocates students to learn in meaningful activities.It provides a set of planning procedures and framework to guide curriculum,evaluation and teaching design.This model can effectively stimulate students’ interest in learning and make teaching more effective,which is favored by many Chinese teachers.It is quite enlightening for us to explore effective teaching.Through the research on the thematic teaching,this paper combines thematic teaching with audio-visual and oral teaching,the purpose is to deepen and expand the theme teaching theory,provide new teaching ideas and reference teaching schemes for Mandarin teachers,break through the limitations of the traditional teaching mode of Chinese as a foreign language,solve the problem of "separation of learning and application",and effectively improve learners’ Chinese level and communicative ability.Through the collation of documents,this paper discusses the theoretical basis of the application of thematic teaching in advanced Chinese audio-visual and oral class;Through the observation of learners and teaching classroom,designed a complete set of audio-visual and oral teaching plan;Finally,the feedback evaluation of teachers and learners is collected in the form of interview,and the teaching design is reflected and improved.When designing the thematic teaching of advanced Chinese audio-visual and oral course,this paper tries to get rid of the constraints of teaching materials,widely collect audio-visual materials around the theme,and integrate them in combination with the audio-visual and oral course,so as to make the whole theme teaching more breadth and depth,and give scope to the initiative of teaching and learning.The results show that the thematic teaching design of advanced audio-visual oral course effectively improves learners’ Chinese level and communicative competence,and provides new teaching ideas and reference teaching schemes for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language.
