Oral output is an important means to achieve communicative communication.The purpose of oral Chinese classes for foreigners is to improve the oral expression level of Chinese learners and achieve communicative output through systematic course learning.At the intermediate level,students’ oral training should no longer be limited to mechanical repetitive drills or semi-open-ended completion exercises.We should realize that the intermediate level is a critical period for learners to improve their oral skills,and adopting appropriate teaching methods during this period will give learners more space to exert their learning initiative.Therefore,during my educational internship,I followed the intermediate class of my internship unit and listened to 64 online intermediate speaking lessons.Through classroom observation,I found that task-based teaching method has great advantages in teaching intermediate speaking.Although task-based teaching method is still a young teaching method and its theoretical system needs to be further supplemented and improved,it focuses on both language form and language meaning,and the advantage that learners can acquire corresponding knowledge by completing tasks is very prominent.The teaching effect is very significant.The New Target Chinese(Beijing Language and Culture University Press,first edition,July 2012)is a set of oral teaching materials based on the concept of task-based teaching.Therefore,this paper selects the lesson of "Food" in New Target Chinese 5,which is suitable for intermediate Chinese learners,to complete the teaching design of intermediate oral lessons.Through the analysis of teaching methods,teaching objectives,teaching objects and teaching contents,we hope to design reasonable task activities,optimize the task plan,ensure the authenticity and feasibility of the task,and achieve the purpose of improving learners’ speaking ability.This paper compares the relevant research results of previous authors,explains the teaching concept of task-based teaching method,and conducts an in-depth study on the application of task-based teaching method in intermediate speaking class,which is the basis of this paper.The purpose of speaking class is to improve learners’ oral communication skills through oral training.The "tasks" in the task-based teachingmethod can provide a large amount of rich training materials for speaking lessons,thus increasing the comprehensible input of learners.Based on this,this paper analyzes the overall design,teaching elements,and possible problems in teaching,designs the teaching for the text in New Target Chinese 5,incorporates the internship and practical experience into the teaching design,and finally receives feedback and evaluation from both teachers and students,reflects on the overall teaching design,and makes relevant suggestions,such as,to understand the meaning of "task" and the meaning of "task" in the task-based teaching method."In the end,we collected feedback and evaluations from both teachers and students and reflected on the overall teaching design." In the teaching,we should understand the actual needs of students and pay attention to the input of corpus before the task,the execution of the task during the task,and the feedback and evaluation after the task.It is hoped that the research in this paper will provide a reference solution for the application of task-based teaching method to intermediate Chinese speaking classes.
