Simultaneous interpreting of interview programs is an interpreting practice combining interpreting with media programs.Interviewers and interviewees usually have in-depth and extensive communication on a specific topic. The professionalism and universality of its content and the two-way and randomness of its dialogues have brought many challenges to interpreters.Interpreters need not only adequate preparation before interpreting, but also reasonable and appropriate allocation of energy in the process of simultaneous interpreting.Global warming not only endangers the environment and social development, but also directly endangers human survival.Bill Gates spent ten years researching and writing the book How to Avoid A Climate Disaster, putting forward a feasible plan to deal with global warming.Based on two of the interviews with Bill Gates about the book, this report conducts simulated simultaneous interpreting, aiming to analyze the challenges brought by interpreting such interview programs, coping strategies, and appeal to all citizens to contribute together to avoid climate disasters. This report mainly covers five chapters: The first chapter describes the background, purpose and significance of this report. The second chapter is the task description, which introduces the selection of the original text, the characteristics of the interview program and the target audience. The third chapter summarizes the process of the simulated simultaneous interpreting. The fourth chapter is the core part of this report.Focusing on the uniqueness of simultaneous interpreting of interviews,it discusses redundant expression, high information density and unclear logic in interviews, and proposes targeted strategies to improve the quality of interpreting. The fifth chapter is the conclusion of this report, summarizing gains and losses of this practice. The interpreter benefits greatly from this simulated practice.Firstly, the interpreter has a deeper understanding of the importance of the identity and how to undertake professional, accurate and efficient interpretation to achieve multi-directional communication between the interviewer, the interviewee and the audience.Secondly, the interpreter realizes the importance of preinterpreting preparation and post-interpretation reflection in order to improve the quality of interpretation. Finally, through the use of relevant coping strategies, the interpreter has exercised her psychological quality and accumulated interpreting experience. There is a long way to go in the study and practice of interpreting. It is hoped that more people will benefit from this report.
