| This practice speech is based on a consecutive interpreting task.From July 24 to 26,2022,the 10thInternational Symposium on Computer Numerical Control Manufacturing(CNCM)was held in Wuhan.The conference invited more than 120 experts and scholars in the field of computer numerical control(CNC)machine tools to join the discussion and exchange ideas and technological information of CNC manufacturing.Dr.?.S.Ganiyusufoglu is the academician of the German Academy of Science and Engineering and has been deeply engaged in the field of machine tools for more than 40 years and has worked in China for more than 16 years.As the assistant of Dr.Gani,the author accompanied Dr.Gani to join the conference and served as an interpreter in the opening ceremony of the conference.The author takes the language materials used in this translation task in writing this practice speech.The UMEER framework of“Understanding,Memorizing,Expression and Emergency Response”proposed by Professor Li Changshuan is employed in this speech to analyze the author’s interpreting process,and to find out the deficiencies and successes.There are five chapters in this speech.Chapter 1 is the description of this interpreting task,including the conference background,the major tasks of this consecutive interpreting speeches,and the introduction of the speakers and audiences.Chapter 2 describes the interpreting process,including the interpreting preparation and the interpreting implementation.Chapter 3 introduces and analyzes the UMEER framework and the Interpretive Theory.Chapter 4 is the case analysis based on the four perspectives of UMEER framework,including successful cases and failed cases.Regarding this chapter,the author exemplifies the application of the Interpretive Theory and effective translation strategies and skills with cases taken from the language materials of this interpreting task.Chapter 5 is the conclusion of this speech,including gains and reflections of this interpreting task,through which,the author has a further understanding of this interpreting process. |
