| The vigorous development of international tourism has benefited from economic globalization.With its high-quality tourism resources and unique geographical advantages,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has also attracted a large number of tourists from home and abroad.In this context,the English translation of tourism texts becomes very important.The translation of tourism texts mainly aims to convey tourism information and attract tourists.The translator needs to deliver the original information accurately and meanwhile ensure the readability of the translated text.Boutique Tourism Brochure of Altay features a clear framework and gorgeous language.Therefore,the author chooses Three Rules of Skopos Theory by Hans J.Vermeer as the guiding theory of this translation practice.From the perspective of Skopos Rule,Coherence Rule and Fidelity Rule,the author adopts research methods including sampling and inducting in order to analyze the strategies and methods of tourism texts and to summarize the experience from translation practice.It is expected that this report can provide reference for the tourism translation and make some contributions to the exchange of tourism culture between China and foreign countries.The intended readers of the source text are Chinese tourists who plan to visit Xinjiang while the intended readers of the target text are foreign tourists,especially Englishspeaking international tourists.For different target readers,the translator is required to make many relevant choices about the translation,such as the selection of appropriate translation strategies and methods.The Coherence Rule helps translators adopt specific translation methods,such as changing the voice of some sentences of the source text to suit the reading habits of the target reader,deleting the redundant structure to simplify the translation,reorganizing the logical sequence instead of sticking to the form and structure of the source text in order to guarantee both readability and acceptability of the target text.The Fidelity Rule requires that the translation should be faithful to the source text and convey factual information to the target reader.Under the guidance of this rule,the author retains some rhetorical figures and translates technical terms accurately.In a word,under the guidance of the Three Rules of Skopos Theory,translators can choose translation strategies and methods flexibly according to the different purposes so as to reduce the impact of cultural and language differences,serving the international tourists to the best. |
