This report is based on the guide interpreting in the west scenic spot of Changbai Mountain. The author worked as a guide interpreter to serve a tourist from South Africa. Before the task, the author made good preparations from two aspects: reading the introductions to the attractions on the official website and building a glossary for the task.During the task, the author accompanied the client to visit the representative attractions in the west scenic spot, namely, the Lake of Heaven,Jinjiang Grand Canyon,Iris Garden and Alpine Garden. The tourism presentations involved cultural knowledge, myths and legends, some of which were challenging. Finally, the author completed the task successfully. And the client was satisfied and made a positive assessment of the service. After this practice, the author transcribed the recording materials and analyzed the transcript in detail based on the interpretive theory. The author found that there were three major problems in this interpreting practice: misinterpreting, redundant expressions and information loss.To a certain extent, the author can improve interpreting quality by solving these problems. Therefore, she takes these three problems as the content of this study. In this study, the author analyzes the concrete examples based on the triangular model of the interpretive theory, that is,“comprehension —— deverbalization ——reformulation”.At the same time, the author puts forward corresponding strategies, including amendment, omission, amplification and paraphrase. It is hoped that this report can provide some suggestions for future interpreters.
