The population of the world is growing day by day.At the same time, with the strong protection of human beings, the number of wild animals has also increased significantly. However, the common living space of humans and animals-the Earth-is still limited,so the interaction between humans and wild animals is growing exponentially. When wildlife threatens human health and safety,well-being or food supply, this interaction often evolves into conflict. The second edition of Human and Wildlife Interactions: From Conflict to Coexistence comprehensively analyzes the above serious problems and the methods used to solve the conflicts between human and wildlife. The author of this book,Dr.Michael Konover, has been a professor and scientist of wildlife for 40 years, and is also the founder of the magazine Human Wildlife Interaction. He has become a recognized leader in the scientific field of human wildlife interaction. In this book,he introduced a series of methods to deal with the harm caused by wild animals, including killing wild animals, giving them food, changing behavior of human or wildlife and expelling wild animals, etc.Supported by numerous case studies, this book records the specific solutions to the conflict between human beings and wildlife. The structure of attributive clauses is tight, and they can be infinitely expanded and extended to the right by nesting other clauses, resulting in multiple structural mixing, mixed voice, and lengthy sentence patterns throughout the entire sentence. This can easily become the focus and difficulty in translation practice.English expression places more emphasis on hypotaxis, while Chinese expression places more emphasis on parataxis. The two expressions often cannot correspond one-to-one.When translating attributive clauses,if only a simple literal translation is carried out according to their sentence order,or only some common translation methods are rigidly chosen, the resulting translation often lacks clarity and structure, and the original sentence connotation cannot be accurately expressed. Therefore, translators should clarify the syntactic structure of attributive clauses, accurately determine the characteristics of sentence patterns, grasp the logical relationship of sentences,be more flexible, use appropriate translation methods, and even choose multiple translation methods to express the meaning of the original text clearly and completely. There are many complex attributive clauses in this book. The translation problems of attributive clauses in this translation practice can be roughly divided into three categories: attributive clauses with complex structure, attributive clauses with lengthy sentence patterns, and attributive clauses with special functions. This translation practice report proposes different solutions for each problem encountered, such as post placement method, division, synthesis method, reorganization method, fusion method, and transformation method. The text selected in this thesis is about the interaction between wildlife and human beings.I hope that the translation of this book can also provide some experience and inspiration for human beings to correctly handle the conflict with wildlife.
