Study On The Construction Of Liaoning Industrial Base In The 1950s

As one of the earliest areas of industrialization in China,Liaoning has abundant industrial resources and is regarded as the epitome and typical representative of China’s industrialization process.After the founding of New China,in the face of the severe environment at home and abroad,the construction of industrial bases with heavy industry as the core has become the top priority in the restoration of national economic construction.With its unique industrial advantages,Liaoning was highly concerned by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,and in the 1950 s,the construction of a heavy industry base focused on Northeast China,especially Liaoning,was carried out.In order to restore,build and develop Liaoning industry,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has repeatedly made important instructions and approvals on the construction of Liaoning industry.In the first five-year Plan,24 of the country’s 156 key projects were arranged in Liaoning,and 730 key projects were set up in Shenyang,Fushun,Dalian and other places in order to correspond with the 24 key projects of the country.By 1957,Liaoning heavy industry base had been basically completed,forming a relatively systematic heavy industry system,to a certain extent,changed the long-term backwardness of heavy industry in China’s industrial development,and made important contributions to the large-scale economic construction and social development of the whole country after the founding of New China.In the course of the construction of Liaoning industrial base,there are three main characteristics: first,taking the state-owned economy as the development center,building a large number of state-owned enterprises,and the proportion of state-owned economy is increasing;Second,heavy industry construction accounts for a significant proportion,giving priority to the development of heavy industry;Third,the course of the construction of Liaoning industrial base reflects the initial exploration of the industrialization road with Chinese characteristics in New China,and has played a role in promoting China’s progress toward industrialization.In the 1950 s,the construction of Liaoning industrial base accumulated valuable experience for China’s industrial development: first,adhering to the leadership of the Party is the political guarantee of Liaoning’s industrial construction,that is,we must adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party of China in industrial construction;Second,adhering to the mass line is the source of strength of Liaoning’s industrial construction,that is,China’s industrial construction needs the party and the masses to work together;Thirdly,seeking truth from facts is an important strategy of Liaoning industrial construction,that is,China’s industrial development should be based on reality;Fourth,adhering to continuous innovation is the driving force for Liaoning’s industrial construction,that is,pursuing scientific and technological innovation on the basis of fully respecting talents.
