| The modern sense of exhibition originated in Europe in the middle of the 19 th century and is a product of the world industrial civilization.In the tortuous course of participating in world expositions,modern China gradually deepened its understanding of exhibitions.At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China,domestic places such as Tianjin,Chengdu,Wuhan and Nanjing tried to hold exhibitions,and a boom of holding exhibitions was formed in China and abroad.Under the impetus of this,local elites in Yunnan gradually realized the role of holding exhibitions in developing Yunnan’s local economy,promoting social education and enlightenment,spreading scientific and cultural knowledge,and conveying the demands of social development,and thus strongly advocated self-organized exhibitions.In the Republic of China,Yunnan not only actively participated in exhibitions at home and abroad,but also actively organized various short-term comprehensive and thematic exhibitions in Yunnan,and set up permanent exhibition venues.The holding of exhibitions became an important part of the material culture of Yunnan during the Republican period.In a specific time and space,a large number of visitors and exhibits are gathered in the exhibition venue,forming a large platform for information interaction between people and things,enabling the dissemination of social wisdom through exhibitions.To ensure the smooth development of the exhibition and achieve the purpose of wisdom dissemination,it is necessary to build a complete system of wisdom dissemination,which includes the construction of the exhibition system,the construction of exhibition space and the creation of public wisdom atmosphere.The system construction includes a set of perfect exhibition mechanism and personnel system,a perfect system of collecting,displaying and awarding exhibits,and a large modern exhibition space that can accommodate a large number of "objects" and "people" at the same time to carry It has also created a large modern exhibition space that can accommodate a large number of "objects" and "people" at the same time to carry the information interaction between people and objects;and created a public atmosphere for the dissemination of social intelligence through group visits,establishment of public visiting order and public recreational activities.The exhibition system was adapted to the dissemination of social wisdom in Yunnan from the three dimensions of system,space,and public atmosphere,which became the prerequisite and important guarantee for the dissemination of social wisdom through exhibitions in Yunnan during the Republican era.Exhibits were the core of the exhibition,and the reception of the visitor’s knowledge system stemmed more from the observation and comparison of exhibits.The various exhibitions held in Yunnan during the Republican period were rich in themes and exhibits,attracting visitors from different walks of life.Through the material culture of the exhibits,modern scientific knowledge was disseminated to visitors in three dimensions: personal,local,and social,and the richness of Yunnan’s agricultural,forestry,craft,and metal mining products,as well as the achievements of Yunnan’s production and construction as a large rear area after the war,thus achieving the goal of "knowledge" through "material".The exhibition is a good example of the role of "knowledge".One of the reasons for Yunnan’s enthusiasm in organizing exhibitions during the Republican period was the ability to bring together a large number of people in a specific time and space and to disseminate social material and cultural knowledge to them through the exhibition platform in order to enlighten and educate the people.Throughout the exhibition,the realistic demands of Yunnan are mainly related to the modernization of agriculture and animal husbandry,industry and commerce,and education,and the dissemination of knowledge is also carried out by the visiting groups in these fields.Thus,the exhibition gives full play to its material and cultural educational function of "teaching with tools". |
