The secondary education is a bridge connecting primary education and university education,and has both the responsibility of promotion and employment.It plays an important role in the entire school education system.secondary education,introduced from the West,has become an important part of China's "three-stage system" after its development and growth.In the late Qing Dynasty,in order to save the crisis of the rule,the Qing government ordered the establishment of new schools,and Yunnan middle school education was produced and developed in this context.This article takes Yunnan middle school education in the Republic of China(1929-1945)as the research object,based on the solid historical materials.After Longyun ruled Yunnan in 1929,a series of adjustments were made to Yunnan's society.The stability of political and social environment and the enrichment of educational funds provide a good background for the development of the secondary school education in Yunnan.On the hardware level of the secondary school,some school buildings and classrooms were built,several teaching tools and equipment were purchased;on the software level of the secondary school,The curriculum install was consummated constantly,the ideological and political education were strengthen,and the level of teachers was improved.Compared with the early period of the Republic of China,the secondary school education in Yunnan has made great progress both in the quantity and the quality.Especially after the outbreak of the all-round anti-Japanese war,the development of the secondary school teachers in Yunnan was obvious to all.During the period of the Republic of China,the development of the secondary school education in Yunnan contributed to the progress of Yunnan society,such as training talents for social development and changing social atmosphere.However,it is undeniable that the development of secondary education in Yunnan during the Republic of China also had shortcomings,such as the imbalance development of areas and the tardy development of the women's secondary school.In modern Yunnan,the development of secondary school education is difficult and complicated.The reasons are complicated.Among them,geographical location and education funding are the two most important factors.From this perspective,studying the development of secondary education at that time still has some reference significance for the development of Yunnan middle school education.
