| With the widespread use of automatic face recognition applications, the protection of sensitive facial data has become a growing concern. In the past decade,a great number of experts have focused on developing biometric template-based protection schemes to safeguard facial biometric data containing private information. However, these methods have limitations in meeting the ideal security, diversity, and revocability standards for templates, and cannot guarantee the system’s high recognition accuracy at the same time.As a result, there remains a need for further research to address the challenges in the technological field. In the background, some values can be found by translating relevant texts. The source text of this translation report is Biometric Template Protection for Neural-Network-based Face Recognition Systems: A Survey of Methods and Evaluation Techniques,a scientific and technological text with sound logic and concise language.Translating the text is conducive to promote the development of face recognition systems while also protecting individuals’ privacy in a more effective manner. This translation report is made up of five parts. The first part presents the purpose and significance of this translation activity. The second part outlines the translation process, including pre-translation preparation, difficulties during the process and proofreading task after the work. The third part describes the development of Skopos Theory and its three principles. The fourth part is case study,in which the translator analyzes many cases under the guidance of the three principles of Skopos Theory from lexical, syntactic, and discourse level. And the last part is a conclusion that contains the translator’s thoughts on translation skills and Skopos Theory and deficiencies in the translation project. This report, the translator believes, would provide references for translators and researchers in fields related. |
