| In the process of development and progress, human society always pursues justice as an ideal goal, and gender justice plays an important role in promoting the realization of social justice.Nancy Fraser(1947-,hereinafter referred to as "Fraser"),as a representative of the third generation of the Frankfurt School and a Western feminist Marxist,on the one hand,Fraser’s exploration of gender justice theory showed a keen observation of the disadvantage of women in the western capitalist society. On the other hand,it provides an important reference for meeting women’s demands for diversity and realizing gender justice, and promotes the in-depth study of gender justice theory in the western theoretical circle.Fraser has conducted in-depth research on gender justice in western capitalist society.Firstly,Fraser conceptually reconstructs gender justice in capitalist society.Gender is regarded as a bivalent collective, through the analysis of seven different normative principles such as anti-poverty and anti-exploitation,combined with the overall development trend of The Times and the development status of the feminist movement, the author points out what is the true sense of gender justice and advocates the "universal caregiver model" to promote the realization of gender justice.Secondly,Fraser revealed the gender injustice facts of "unfair distribution, and rocentrism and unequal political status" in capitalist society. In the fierce debate with Hornett and other theorists,Fraser pointed out that the single theory of distributive justice and the theory of acknowledged justice both have their own limitations, and it is difficult to correct the gender problem that the capitalist society is more favorable to men. Finally,Fraser proposed to correct the gender injustice through economic redistribution, cultural recognition and democratic institutions.By inheriting the critical tradition of the Frankfurt School and drawing on contemporary western Marxist feminist thought,Fraser conceived a three-dimensional gender justice framework with participation equality as the normative standard and covering economic, political and cultural dimensions, aiming at gender injustice issues such as "wrong distribution","wrong recognition" and "wrong representation".By introducing "political representation" as a third dimension of gender justice, the realization of gender justice is expanded to a more comprehensive framework.Fraser’s theory of gender justice has both positive significance and limitations. The positive significance of Fraser’s gender justice theory is mainly reflected in: it can not only help us to understand the latest research trend of western capitalist social justice theory more carefully, but also open up a new research perspective for related scholars studying Nancy Fraser; And it’s helping to spark new thinking about gender justice in existing societies. The limitations of Fraser’s gender justice theory are as follows: Firstly,Fraser regards economic factors leading to gender injustice as equally important as political and cultural factors, weakening the role of economic factors and deviating from the analytical method of Marxist materialism, that is,economic factors as the main factors to analyze and solve social problems;Secondly, the establishment of global democratic system proposed by Fraser is the transformation of capitalism itself, and has a certain degree of abstraction, the lack of a specific plan combining theoretical assumption and practical path, and the revolution advocated by Marx does not accord with the way of change,so it is difficult to realize his theoretical assumption.Thirdly,Fraser, while ruthlessly criticizing the unjust reality in the capitalist society, had to pocket all the merits of various theories and finally fell into the dilemma of eclecticism. |
