| Vocabulary is the most basic material,the smallest meaningful unit and one of the three elements of a language.Language use,whether language understanding or language expression,is inseparable from vocabulary.What’s more,with the development of Internet technology,the way for people to learn knowledge and obtain information is more intelligent and efficient.In 2017,the Ministry of Education issued English Curriculum Standards for General Senior High Schools,which clearly pointed out that ordinary high schools should enrich curriculum resources and expand learning channels.Therefore,there are two research questions to be answered:1.In which aspects does the application of Weiciketang have effect on senior high school English vocabulary teaching?2.What is the effective model of Weiciketang application in senior high school English vocabulary teaching?In order to explore more effective vocabulary teaching approaches and find out the answers to the research questions,this study employed the experimental teaching approach by combining the application of Weiciketang and the traditional teaching method in Tongliao NO.5 Senior High School.Weiciketang is a class teaching aid designed to assist the English vocabulary teaching of senior high school.The teaching experiment was conducted in the classroom vocabulary teaching among 103 students from two parallel arts classes for 4 months.The teaching approach based on the blended learning theory was conducted in the experimental class,which consisted of52 students.The controlled class was made up of 51 students and was taught with the traditional teaching method only.To measure the effect of the experimental teaching approach,two vocabulary tests and a questionnaire survey were conducted.Eventually,the data were collected and analysed through SPSS.25.0 and the conclusion for the study was drawn.The data showed that the experimental teaching approach had greatly positive effect on students’ vocabulary learning outcome and learning strategies application.As for the comparison of vocabulary test results between the two classes,students of the experimental class performed better than the controlled class in total average score,dictation and Chinese to English.Besides,the questionnaire data also showed that the experimental class could better employ learning strategies.Last,the experimental teaching approach was discussed with the hope of providing a suggested model for practical application and further study. |
