This translation practice is excerpted from the Zhuang Brocade,a book in the series of “Our Guangxi”.Zhuang brocade is an intangible cultural heritage of Guangxi.It is a special handicraft full of labor and wisdom of Zhuang people.It has high practical value and profound cultural connotation.With the deepening of cultural globalization in today’s world,the translation of the technique and cultural connotation of Zhuang brocade will help to show the colorful Guangxi culture to the world,increase the soft power of Chinese culture and improve the development of Guangxi.Meanwhile,with the improvement of China’s international status and influence,driven by the Belt and Road initiative,the long history of Chinese culture is also increasingly recognized by the international community.The effective external dissemination of Zhuang brocade culture has far-reaching significance for Chinese culture “going out”.The Zhuang Brocade belongs to cultural texts.Therefore,this report will translate Chapter III “colors of Zhuang brocade” and Chapter IV “patterns of Zhuang brocade” based on Bassnett’s cultural translation theory.This report analyzes the text characteristics and translation methods from lexical,syntactic and textual levels,pays attention to the cultural differences between China and the west,conveys effective original information,and makes readers feel the original Chinese culture.Through this translation practice,the author hopes to provide some reference for the future translation research of intangible cultural heritage.
