The thought of the relationship between man and nature is an important part of Marx’s ecological thought, which is helpful to grasp Marx’s ecological thought accurately. This paper excavates the content of the relationship between man and nature, discusses the theoretical meaning of this thought, and provides the theoretical basis for the construction of ecological civilization. The paper divided into four parts to expounds the relationship between man and nature and its value:The first part is to investigate the theoretical origin of Marx on the relationship between man and nature. The development of humanistic spirit in the two European ideological liberation movements provided ideological premise for Marx, and the development of modern natural science provided scientific support for Marx to understand the relationship between man and nature objectively; The dialectical movement of Hegel and the foundation of human survival provided Marx. The second part is to sort out the ideological content of the relationship between Marx and man and nature. In the process of pursuing the free development of all human beings,Marx gradually formed the systematic view of the relationship between man and nature.According to the richness of the relationship between man and nature,it is divided into three stages of formation, development and deepening.Marx took the rational principle of man to nature as an opportunity and beginning, expounded the contradiction between human and nature in the Manuscripts of 1844,German Ideology,Das Kapital,Political economy criticism <1857-1858manuscript> Political economy criticism <1861-1863 manuscript> and other works, then criticized and reflected on the relationship between human and nature in the field of economic and political capital logic, discussed the relationship between nature and human civilization development, and further extended the relationship between man and nature to the field of anthropology. The third part is to explore the theoretical meaning of the relationship between Marx and man and nature. It mainly includes four aspects: from the philosophical dimension, the relationship between man and nature is the dialectical unity;from the economic dimension, the relationship between man and nature is the anti-ecological criticism and the harmonious coexistence of the harmonious relationship between man and nature requires the guidance of harmonious values. The fourth part is to analyze the time value of Marx’s thought on the relationship between man and nature. At the theoretical level, the study of this thought can answer the western debate on Marx’s relationship between man and nature, and guide the construction of our ecological civilization; At the practical level,it can provide ideological guidance for the green transformation advocated by China, establish the ecological principles in the economic field, and glow the institutional superiority of socialism compared with capitalism.
