Applied Research On Narrative Visual Design In Tiaohua Festival Of Miao People In Guizhou

Festivals are an important component of ethnic culture for a people,and festival customs follow the traditions of their ancestors and are an important way to chronicle the productive life of the people.With the development of the economic wave and the impact of diversified cultures,the culture of ethnic festivals in many regions has gradually faded and the awareness of traditional ethnic festivals has gradually become indifferent.Traditional festivals of ethnic minorities,such as the Miao’s Tiaohua Festival,have also suffered from the impact of social pluralism and foreign cultures,and are in urgent need of protection.It is urgent to promote and protect the traditional festivals of ethnic minorities,and society has made various attempts to protect and develop the culture of ethnic minorities.This study is based on the theory of narrative design and emphasizes the "narrative" in visual design.The folk culture is presented in the form of narrative,using narrative rhetorical design,and presented in the visual design to highlight the story and plot of the folk culture.The Miao’s Tiaohua Festival in Guizhou contains rich ethnic arts,such as ethnic costumes,Lusheng dances and festival ceremonies.The elements of the Tiaohua Festival are sorted,classified and analyzed to identify the key to transmitting the deep culture of the Miao from the festival.The design principles are proposed.Under the principle of following the narrative and emotional approach to the Miao’s Tiaohua Festival,the visual design should be combined with modern aesthetic needs to convey the ethnicity and locality of the Miao’s Tiaohua Festival in Guizhou,to realize the visual transformation of ethnic cultural information,and to produce effective communication with the audience.Using the narrative form of narrative design and visual rhetorical techniques as a guide,the visual design strategy of Guizhou Miao’s Tiaohua Festival is explored.The narrative design strategy of Miao’s Tiaohua Festival is proposed from "analyzing visual elements,selecting narrative theme-refining design focus,integrating narrative content-using narrative expression to evoke ethnic memory".In the design practice,we use posters and picture books as visual carriers to design the Guizhou Miao’s Tiaohua Festival in a narrative way.The use of visual narrative rhetorical techniques explores certain experiences and methodological inspirations for the visual construction of the promotion of traditional ethnic minority festivals.
