A Report On The Simulated Simultaneous Interpretation Of The Plenary Session Of High-level Forum For RCEP Economic And Trade Cooperation

Under the influence of the epidemic,the international situation has changed drastically,global uncertainty has increased,and the economic development of various countries has suffered various setbacks.High-level Forum For RCEP Economic and Trade Cooperation is the first large-scale economic and trade forum held after the signing of the RCEP agreement.It has played an important role in promoting regional economic and trade cooperation and stability and facilitation of regional trade and investment.This report selects the second plenary session of the conference for simulated simultaneous interpretation,combined with Gile’s energy allocation model,analyzes the interpreter’s energy allocation in the four stages of the listening and analysis,the short-term memory,the speech production and the coordination.It summarizes the difficult problems,such as difficulties in listening and distinguishing the source language,inaccurate expression of the target language,logical confusion and omissions and mistranslations caused by heavy accents,high information density and small memory capacity.It is aimed at giving corresponding translation strategies combined with cases.For example,omission and simplification and context analysis can be used in the stage of listening comprehension.Generalization and prefabricated language block methods can be used in the short-term memory stage.Prediction method and information supplement method can be used in the target language output stage.Information reconstruction method and sequence drive method can be used flexibly in the coordination stage.When performing interpretation tasks,the flexible use of the above eight methods can effectively solve the problem of unbalanced energy allocation caused by the simultaneous interpretation process.
