A Study Of Network Four-Syllable Words And Expressions

This thesis makes a detailed classification and description of the function,structure and semantics of network four-syllable words and expressions,and conducts a questionnaire survey and analysis on the use of four-syllable network words,and constructs the basic appearance of four-syllable network words system.From a functional point of view,there are three types of network four-syllable words and expressions: nominal,predicate and separate.The proportion of each type of words in quantity is as follows: nominal words>predicate words>separate.Among them,separate words are a unique category of four-syllable words and expressions.From a structural point of view,network four-syllable words and expressions tend to create nominal words with attributive structure and create predicate words with subjectpredicate.Among them,the partial formal words account for about 57% of the total number of words we examined,and occupy the main position in the network four-syllable words.In general,most of four-syllable network words and expressions are still constructed according to the structure of modern Chinese words,but some new expressions are also provided,such as new collocation relationships and collocation objects,and new affix-like forms.From a semantic point of view,the semantic types of four-syllable network words and expressions are very rich.Among them,the internal semantic structure of most four-syllable words is consistent with traditional words,but also provides some new semantic structure rules that are different from traditional words,such as action role of N2 hidden between N1 and N2,evaluation role of N2 hidden between N1 and N2,etc.In addition,assigning new meanings to old words is also an important means of semantic expression of four-syllable network words,such as assigning new meanings to old words by means of metaphor,metonymy,homophony,and imitation.In terms of the investigation and analysis of four-syllable network words and expressions,the results of the questionnaire show that although four-syllable network words are already well known to some people,people have a neutral and disapproval attitude towards four-syllable network words.People are not inclined to use four-syllable network words in real life.Even among young people who have a high degree of understanding of four-syllable words,they are conservative and cautious in the use and emotional attitudes of four-syllable network words and expressions...
