The musical life of Tianjin opera has experienced vicissitudes of life,inheritance and innovation for nearly a hundred years,and has evolved into a unique cultural form of opera.Based on research methods such as historical data verification methods,literature analysis methods and comparative research methods,this paper takes the development of Tianjin opera music life during the period from 1900 to 1928 as the research object.The performance and development of Pingju,Kunqu Opera,Cantonese Opera and Civilized Opera in Tianjin are retrospected and analyzed.The author believes that,in view of Tianjin’s unique geographical location,it became one of the domestic political,economic and cultural centers from 1900 to1928,and then became an influential metropolis in modern times.Commercial prosperity and relatively stable settlement environment have led to a surge in population and a sharp increase in the demand for entertainment and culture.Tianjin,which has always had a tradition of watching operas,has a solid audience base for opera music.The increase and expansion of Tianjin opera performance venues,the recognition of opera music in the audience’s social concept,and the high recognition of the educational function of opera music by public opinion.Cantonese Opera and Civilization Opera have also achieved unprecedented development.During this period,the musical life of Tianjin opera showed a trend of development and progress in twists and turns on the whole.At the same time,it also showed the deepening of the commercialization of opera music,the emphasis on the social function of opera music,the gender center of the stage being shifted by women,and the center of stage performance being dominated by "famous role" offset and other characteristics.
