A Report On Translation Of Financial And Economic News In The Economist

The author worked as an intern at China Daily from October 2021 to January 2022,participating in the selection and translation of news in foreign mainstream media.The texts selected by the author were mainly from news reports under the "Finance and Economics" column of The Economist.This report reviews the author’s translation practice,.applying the "comprehension,-expression and adaptation"(CEA)framework.proposed by Li Changshuan,to summarize and analyze the problems encountered in practice,elaborates specific solutions and methods,and provides experiences and lessons to be learned.The report contains five chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the background and significance of writing this translation practice report and outlines the report’s overall structure.Chapter 2 is an overview of the internship and the translation process,including the three steps of pretranslation,while-translation,and post-translation.Chapter 3 focuses on the analysis framework and related discussion,briefly introducing the origin and content of the CEA framework,and cites relevant theories in each part to explain.In Chapter 4,the author selects translation examples to analyze based on the CEA framework and explains in detail the process of finding and solving problems.Chapter 5 is the conclusion,in which the author summarizes the problems and difficulties in financial and economic news translation according to the translation practice,reflects on the limitations of this report,and provides experience and suggestions for future translation.
