"2022 Greater Bay Area Chief Economist Forum" Chinese-English Consecutive Interpretation Practice Repor

This report is based on the Chinese-English consecutive interpreting practice.The material is about“2022 Greater Bay Area Chief Economist Forum”.The author chooses the meeting on July 23^rd as materials for this interpreting practice.By analyzing specific problems of interpreting task,using appropriate interpreting strategies,the author hopes to provide guidance for other interpreters.In this practice report,the author mainly introduces interpreting strategies of Chinese idioms,using strategies of literal translation and free translation to improve interpreting quality.To solve the problem of lexical redundancy and semantic redundancy,the author uses strategies of omission and compression.The strategies of adding logical connectives and adjustment of word order are used to solve the problem of logic ambiguity.By analyzing problems encountered by interpreters in the interpreting process the author has a deeper understanding of these strategies and realizes the importance of such interpreting strategies like literal translation and so on.The author hopes that this report can offer reference for other interpreters’work in the future.
