Report On The Practice Of Chinese-English Simultaneous Interpretation At The Third New Force Foru

This is a report based on C-E simultaneous interpreting practice of “the Third Bioinnovation Summit” and the report contains four parts of task introduction,task process,problems encountered and solutions used,reflection of the task and a summary.The difficulties in this practice can be categorized into three kinds: expression with Chinese characteristics,unclear logic of the source language,and redundancy in interpreting output.Given the two situations of expression with Chinese characteristics,namely expression beyond literal meaning and the semantic-equivalence expression,the methods of free interpreting and literal interpreting have been proposed respectively.For unclear logic of the source language,namely expression causing ambiguous understanding and key elements missing,the methods of waiting and addition have been proposed respectively.The difficulties in redundancy of interpreting output include literal interpreting of category word and synonym repetition of the source language,and the methods of ellipsis and information reorganization have been adopted respectively.This task aims to test and improve the interpretation ability of the author of this report and find out deficiencies.At the same time,the author hopes that the problem analysis and solutions proposed in this report can provide a reference for MTI students and professional interpreters.
