| This report is based on the translation of “The State as Victim: Ethnical Politics of Injury Claims and Revenge in International Relations”.This source text expresses emotional attitude of author of the source text towards revenging acts by a state actor against another state based on the injury claims.This report,guided by semantic translation,tries to explore how to convey emotional attitude of author of the source text in the translated text by combining translation experience and examples.This report focuses on the translation of words and attributive clauses according to the characteristics of the source text containing a large number of key terminologies and attributive clauses.In terms of words,the translation methods can be divided into literal translation,conversion and inversion.In terms of attributive clauses,the translation methods can be divided into pre-position,amplification and division.The author hopes to translate the source text accurately and convey the attitude of the source text.Such translation methods can be provided as references for future translation of such text. |
