In this paper,"bu shi wo shuo ni" "bie guai wo duo zui" and "shu wo zhi yan" are taken as the research objects, aiming to analyze syntactic and semantic features, pragmatic functions, evolutionary approaches and formation mechanism,so as to explore and study the discourse markers of euphemism more deeply. This paper is mainly divided into seven sections:The first chapter mainly introduces the significance of the topic, combs the research status of the discourse markers, and explains the theoretical basis, methods and the corpus sources of the research.Chapter two on the basis of summarizing of previous studies, determines the nature of the discourse markers studied in this paper, leads to the judgment criteria of the euphemistic discourse markers, summarizes the characteristics of the euphemistic discourse markers, and analyzes the selected specific research objects "bu shi wo shuo ni" "bie guai wo duo zui" "shu wo zhi yan".The third chapter takes "bu shi wo shuo ni" as the research object.Investigate the syntactic position distribution of the discourse marker "bu shi wo shuo ni",and the semantic model of the discourse marker "bu shi wo shuo ni" can be summarized as "X+suggestion or persuade" and "X+ criticism".The evolutionary path of "bu shi wo shuo ni" is the process of the speaker’s focus information disengagement. When "X" is a long and complicated sentence, the speaker transforms "bu shi wo shuo ni +X" into a clause "bu shi wo shuo ni,ni..." in order to remind the listener. Then,"bu shi wo shuo ni" is separated from the subsequent focus information and becomes two independent parts, the semantic of "bu shi wo shuo ni" is gradually weakened. In addition, the multiple effects of syntactic environment and subjectification also lead to the formation of the discourse marker "bu shi wo shuo ni".The object of the fourth chapter is "bie guai wo duo zui".The syntactic position distribution of "bie guai wo duo zui" has a certain degree of tendentious flexibility. The semantic model of "bie guai wo duo zui" is mainly divided into three types: "X+suggestion or persuasion" "X+ negative evaluation" and "X+ explanation".The usage of "zui" in relation to the meaning of speech appeared in the Song Dynasty. The transformation of "zui" from noun to speech verb is based on the semantic basis of the physical structure in the noun to verb.As a noun of human body parts with natural functions,"zui" is easy to be transformed into a verb. From the perspective of pragmatics, the formation of the discourse marker "bie guai wo duo zui" comes from the relevance of context."zui" does not need to go through the evolution of cognitive meaning, and the pragmatic meaning of the discourse marker can be highlighted.Pragmatic reasoning and reanalysis also promote the formation of the discourse marker. The fifth chapter mainly discusses "shu wo zhi yan".The distribution of the discourse marker "shu wo zhi yan" is flexible. In the text,it has the semantic characteristics of transitional relation, inductive relation and expository relation. There are many reasons for speakers to express euphemism, which makes "X" in the predicate position has two kinds of words besides "zhi yan",one is verbal phrase and the other is descriptive phrase. The development of "shu wo zhi yan" from being a syntactic component to being a discourse marker is in a diachronic evolution."yan" has experienced the process of becoming increasingly falsification from the domain of "action" and "knowledge" then to the domain of "speech",which is the result of multiple functions of generalization and metaphor.Based on the second to fifth chapters, the sixth chapter analyzes the commonalities and differences among the three cases, and explores the formative causation of the euphemistic discourse markers by taking "bu shi wo shuo ni" "bie guai wo duo zui" and "shu wo zhi yan" as references. In terms of syntactic distribution, the discourse marker "shu wo zhi yan" is usually appearing at the middle of the sentence, which is used to connect and continue the topic. On the other hand,"bu shi wo shuo ni" and "bie guai wo duo zui" tend to be the beginning of the sentence, which plays a role in organizing and prompting the speech. From the semantic features of the subsequent sentences, the follow-up sentences of the discourse marks "bu shi wo shuo ni" "bie guai wo duo zui" and "shu wo zhi yan" are usually the suggestions, criticisms or explanations of the speaker. In terms of pragmatic function, they all have the function of pragmatic balance and have the function of antiexpectation. In terms of personality, first of all,the three have their own tendencies in the co-occurrence of modal verb, adverb and adversative conjunction.Secondly,"bu shi wo shuo ni" "bie guai wo duo zui" and "shu wo zhi yan" have obvious differences in form. Finally, the three have their own differences in language emotion. The factors that promote the formation of the euphemistic discourse markers are politeness principle, cooperation principle, economic principle and frequency of use.The seventh chapter is a summary of the views of this paper, and reflect on the shortcomings.
