| Franz Kafka is a famous Austro-Hungarian writer,whose masterpieces include the novels "America","The Trial" and "The Castle",as well as the short stories "The Building of a Chinese City","The Judgment" and "The Hunger Artist".His famous novel "The Metamorphosis" tells the story of a man who is transformed into a beetle.This story shows Kafka’s own life experience and the reality that ordinary people are unable to resist their miserable fate under capitalism.Kafka’s novels were introduced to China relatively late and were initially translated into Chinese,with few Kazakh translations existing.Kafka has written a large number of classic novels,such as The Verdict,The Castle,and The Metamorphosis,etc.The popularity of these works is inextricably linked to the author’s writing style.In addition,the translations of these works have also demonstrated the original style.Based on this,this paper considers and analyzes the translation of Kafka’s works on the basis of a brief introduction to Kafka and his works,using representative novels as examples.The main purpose of this paper is to summarize the translation methods and techniques used in translating Kafka’s novels into Kazakh,and to comment on the Kazakh translations and identify the highlights of the translations.It is hoped that it will be of some help in the translation of Kafka’s novels.This paper consists of three parts: introduction,main text,and conclusion.The first part introduces the purpose and significance of the study,the current status and development of the study,the research method,the theoretical basis and the innovation.The main text consists of five chapters.This chapter provides an overview of Kafka’s novels and heir translations,as well as a brief introduction to the translator and the style of translation.Chapter 2 is devoted to the lexical translation of Kafka’s novels,with examples of the translation of proper nouns,common nouns,and familiar words.This chapter analyzes the characteristics of the translation of Kafka’s novels by using rhetorical expressions as examples,and gives examples and analysis of whether the rhetorical approach to translation has been accurately handled.Chapter 4 analyzes the translation techniques and methods used in Kafka’s novels,and investigates whether the translation techniques and methods used in the translation are accurate.Chapter 5 provides an overall analysis and review of the Kafka novels in the Kazakh translation,highlighting the shortcomings and strengths of the translator’s translation.The concluding section concludes with a summary of the entire text. |
