| Singapore As the only overseas country that uses Mandarin as an official language,Chinese education is valued,and the "Differentiated teaching" characteristic formed in the process of Chinese teaching reform in Singapore is also reflected in the development of Singapore Chinese teaching materials.The Chinese curriculum in Singapore secondary schools is divided into five levels: "Basic Chinese","Chinese B","Normal Academic Chinese","Express Chinese",and "Higher Chinese".The new Chinese textbook "Chinese Companion Me",which was launched and used in Singapore in 2021,is classified according to this,and five sets of teaching materials at different levels are prepared for each grade.This paper first sorts out and explains the origin,development and current situation of Chinese differential teaching in Singapore,and then analyzes the similarities and differences in the teaching objectives,teaching material structure and proportion of the five levels of teaching books in the first volume of "Chinese Accompanies Me" based on the actual situation of "differentiated teaching" theory and textbook analysis,and investigates the specific items in the four main sections of listening,speaking,reading,writing and culture.Based on the results of the investigation,the author divides "Basic Chinese" and"Chinese(B)" into low-level Chinese courses,"Normal Academic Chinese" as Intermediate Chinese courses,and "Express Chinese" and "Higher Chinese" as high-level Chinese courses.Among them,there are qualitative differences between different levels,such as "Higher Chinese" compared with "Basic Chinese",the capacity and difficulty of teaching content have been greatly improved,among which,the larger the level gap and the farther the difference between the two levels,the greater the gap;For example,compared with "Basic Chinese" and"Chinese(B)",the difference between the two is only that the teaching content capacity and difficulty of "Chinese(B)" are slightly higher than that of "Basic Chinese”,and the difference between "Express Chinese" and "Higher Chinese" is far less than the difference between"Express Chinese" and "Normal academic Chinese".Through the investigation of the five levels of teaching books,on the one hand,we have a deeper understanding of the concept of "differentiated teaching" in Singaporean Chinese,and on the other hand,we have a clearer understanding of the specific performance of the differences of Singaporean Chinese layered teaching materials.Singapore’s differentiated Chinese layered textbooks have certain reference value,and after summarizing,this paper puts forward several research enlightenments for the preparation of layered textbooks and Chinese textbooks: first,layered textbooks should be systematic in terms of textbook structure,teaching objectives and teaching content;Second,the hierarchical teaching materials can be consistent in terms of learning themes and main sections;Third,hierarchical teaching materials must be different,especially in terms of teaching objectives,teaching capacity,teaching difficulty,etc.;Fourth,overseas Chinese teaching materials should have localized characteristics.It is hoped that the above four enlightenments can provide some practical and effective help for the future development of more mature and complete Chinese layered teaching materials. |
