Research On The Problems And Countermeasures Of Residents’ Participation In Mixed Community

As the rapid development of China’s urbanization,the dual relationship between urban and rural areas has gradually been changed as the guidance of the government and the market,and great change taken in the rural-urban fringe area.A large number of villages were replaced by new residential buildings,villagers moved from village to the new built community with citizen identity,and the new-developed district attracted migrant to purchase or rent real estate here,while some of people from downtown area chose to relocate as city relocation plan and the low prices of real estate in the new areas,which has initiated a special type of community called mixed community.It composes of inhabitant with different geography and work background.The mixed community has met new challenge different from city community and rural community due to its complicated structure,high heterogeneity,and fusion problem.According to the difference between the mixed community and others,it’s impossible to apply the governance experience of urban and rural communities into the mixed community.Residents’ participation which is the foundation of community governance,the way to realize people democracy,and also an important way to reflect the leading status of residents.In fact,residents’ participation in community affairs stays at a simple level,and their participation is only the negative response to the neighborhood committees,which is not good to encourage resident to participate the community affair of their own will.Community culture is the most direct and simple way for residents to participate in community affairs.It’s useful and practical to use this point as an entry to explore the problems residents’ participation in mixed community.Taking F community in Shanghai Baoshan District as an example,this research is about the participation of community culture in mixed community.Conduct questionnaire surveys and interviews to learn the situation and find out problems.Figure out the reasons based on the investigation and analysis,then propose with some feasible suggestion and measurement to improve the participation in community culture.To a certain extent,community culture plays a positive role in improving residents’ moral accomplishment and advocating heath lifestyle.Mixed community residents have uneven quality,alienated relationships,and weak public awareness.Promoting community culture in mixed communities helps to build up inhabitants’ collective memory,create the connection between inhabitants and inspire sense of identity and belonging,which is good to improve the efficiency of community governance.
