| With the arrival of the post-pandemic era,the Internet plays an increasingly important role in people’s work,study,entertainment,and other aspects.However,as individuals and organizations engage in activities on the Internet more frequently,cybersecurity issues have become more prominent.Threats such as cyber attacks,data leaks,and cybercrime jeopardize the security of individuals,organizations,and nations,making cybersecurity a significant global issue.Therefore,studying foreign cyber security reports is of great significance for protecting personal privacy,corporate security,and national security.This translation practice report selects the “Toshiba Cyber Security Report 2022” as the translation material and uses the DeepL machine translation engine for translation.By analyzing and summarizing the problems in the machine-translated text,this report explores how to use post-editing strategies to further improve translation quality.This translation practice report is divided into four chapters: task description,process description,case analysis,and translation practice summary.Chapter 1 introduces the background of the translation project,the text type,and the reasons for choosing the post-editing mode.Chapter 2 is divided into three stages: machine translation,post-editing,and proofreading;Chapter 3 is the key chapter of this report,analyzing the problems in the DeepL translation from three levels of vocabulary,syntax,and discourse,and proposing corresponding post-editing strategies.Chapter 4 summarizes the author’s experience in this translation practice.Through this translation project,the author found that machine translation technology has certain advantages in translating cyber security reports.However,post-editing and human proofreading are still necessary to improve translation quality.This report aims to summarize and explore the application practices and methods of machine translation post-editing mode in the translation of cyber security reports,in order to provide some reference for future related translation practices and research. |
