Tribute thought has appeared since the pre Qin Dynasty. As the first unified dynasty in Chinese history,Qin and Han Dynasties naturally had a strategic idea to establish a tribute system. However,Qin II died, and the cause of building a tribute system for a unified dynasty had not really started. The Han Dynasty, which succeeded the cause of unification, took on the historical responsibility of continuing to build a tribute system. As the founding and foundation laying period of the great unified dynasty in ancient China, the Han Dynasty and the Han Dynasty formed and developed a tributary system in this period, which provided a model for later generations.Since then, the construction of their respective tributary systems in successive dynasties has been deeply affected by the Han Dynasty’s tributary system, and on this basis, more rich contents and forms have evolved. The Western Han Dynasty was the foundation period of the tributary system in the Han Dynasty. This period coincided with the opening of the Silk Road, which provided the ruling class in the early Han Dynasty with more ideas about the tributary system, making the tributary system centered on the Silk Road the most representative model in this period; In the Xinmang period, the social contradictions were complex and acute, and the foreign policy was wrong, which made the construction of the tributary system stagnate; After the establishment of the Eastern Han Dynasty,Emperor Guangwu restored the old system and made contact with countries in the Western Regions again. With the restoration of national strength, the construction of the tributary system was restarted and made great achievements. So far,the construction and development of the tributary system in the Han Dynasty has basically come to an end. This paper focuses on the Silk Road through the handed down literature and archaeological materials, and makes a targeted study of the tributary system in the Han Dynasty. In addition to the introduction, the text of this paper will be divided into four chapters according to the chronology order. The first chapter is the foundation period of the tributary system in the Han Dynasty. It mainly focuses on the construction of the tributary system in the Western Han Dynasty, and discusses the initial formation of the tributary system in the Western Han Dynasty from the theoretical origin of the tributary system. The second chapter is Xinmang period, mainly analyzes the destruction and causes of the tributary system centered on the Silk Road after Wang Mang Dynasty. The third chapter is the restoration and fluctuation period of the tributary system of the Han Dynasty. It mainly discusses the restoration and adjustment of the tributary system centered on the Silk Road by the central government in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The fourth chapter is the historical positioning and evaluation of the tributary system of the Han Dynasty centered on the Silk Road. After the development and recovery of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the tributary system of the Han Dynasty centered on the Silk Road finally took shape, providing reference and model for the development of the tributary system of the later generations. |
