research value, significance, motivation and train of thought of this paper. In addition to the introduction, the text is divided into five chapters. The first chapter analyzes the 1930s context of natural disaster writing in the left-wing literature. With 1930s warlords fighting, social unrest and foreign invasion, the Chinese nation is facing a serious national crisis.Under the reactionary rule of the Kuomintang, the peasants suffered greatly from the exploitation of the feudal land system. To a certain extent, class and national contradictions lead to frequent natural disasters and aggravate the sufferings of the people. Therefore, the subject of“Natural disaster” has entered the creative vision of the left-wing writers, who have written the awakening and struggle of the vast number of peasants, and their works have a strong and distinct color of the times. The second chapter, based on the writer’s experience of natural disasters, combs the 1930s left-wing writers’ writings on natural disasters and incorporates their thoughts on the future of the revolution,a clear and direct indication of the direction of battle. In the discourse field of“Natural Disaster”,on the one hand, the left-wing writers opened up a new field of writing and emphasized the concept of revolutionary literature,at the same time, combined with their own experience of exile and survival experience to reproduce the historical scene. On the other hand, the emotional connection between the native Chinese and the left-wing writers also gave birth to their reflections on the living conditions of the people in the situation at that time, produced in line with the“Natural disasters” of the instant“Sketch” model of the work. The left-wing writers in the creation of a more in-depth thinking on the future of the Revolution,in the text of the expression of a more clear and straightforward point out the direction of the battle. The third chapter deals with the 1930s theme of natural disasters in left-wing literature. The natural disaster described in the left-wing literature is not simply a description of the natural disaster itself, but through the works to convey anti-feudal revolutionary consciousness and revolutionary spirit.Through the writing of life and death to expose the class contradictions and the dark rule of the Kuomintang, these deeply reflect the writers pay attention to the living conditions of the people at the bottom. This paper takes Ding Ling’s “Water” and other representative texts as examples, and focuses on the theme of peasant revolution and resistance that left-wing intellectuals want to expound through their works. The fourth chapter looks at the natural disasters in 1930s left-wing literature from the perspective of artistic characteristics.Among them, the direct description of the characters is a remarkable feature in the works. The free transformation and multi-dimensional presentation of different spaces show the images of disaster victims and refugees for the readers. At the same time, writers in the historical background of war and natural disasters witnessed the occurrence of natural disasters, more conducive to direct and rapid reflection of the times and society.Based on Hong Shen’s Wukui Bridge and Shā Tīng’s a night in a disaster area, this chapter summarizes the artistic characteristics of natural disaster writing in left-wing literature. The fifth Chapter,1930s a general reflection on the writing of natural disasters in left-wing literature. On the one hand, the writing of natural disasters in the left-wing literature embodies certain value. In the left-wing literature, the writing of“Natural disasters” has indeed stimulated the individual consciousness of suffering and the thinking of the predicament of human existence, have the value of encouragement and resistance. At the same time, for the contemporary literature on the writing of natural disasters has a certain significance of enlightenment. On the other hand, because “Natural disaster” itself occurs suddenly, and the writer wants to reflect the content of the times quickly,so there are some problems in the works, such as the lack of aesthetic value and the tendency to be formulaic. In a comprehensive analysis, the collision of natural disaster as a sudden event with the revolutionary happening at the bottom in the 1930s has aroused the special attention of the left-wing literature, the whole context of the left-wing literature is constructed. However,as a unique branch, there is no doubt that the writing of natural disasters has to some extent promoted the vigorous development of left-wing literature.Up to now, although the era of left-wing literature is far away from us,the historical and cultural significance of revolutionary words in natural disaster writing has not disappeared with the passage of time, this kind of humanitarianism spirit still obtains the inheritance and the continuation in many later ages literature writer’s body. |
