| This article reports the practice of consecutive interpretation based on the chapter "The King" of Forbidden City.It is a large-scale documentary and connects China’s600 years of history through 12 chapters,presenting the Forbidden City from a unique perspective of history.At the same time,taking critical historical events as the starting point,combined with rich historical materials,it realizes the combination of China’s600-year history.It presents the audience with a different meaning."The King" not only introduces the social background and historical pattern at the beginning of the establishment of the Ming Dynasty but also explains the historical background and character relationship of the establishment of the Forbidden City.We should make good use of the precious resource of humanities and history documentaries to spread Chinese culture to the world,let Chinese culture spread to the world,influence the world,strengthen world cultural exchanges,and promote China’s Cultural development of the country.The interpreter carried out consecutive interpretation practices of the "Forbidden City"-King,because of the formal characteristics of the documentary and the nature of the historical theme,the culture-loaded words containing Chinese characteristics will be involved in the film.Understanding and interpreting culture-loaded words is essential to analyze,involving translatable and untranslatable expressions.At the same time,we need to use the interpretive theory out of the Chinese forms and pursue its original meaning to interpret.Guided by interpretive theory,this report will provide a comparative analysis of issues that arise in the interpreting process,such as historically specific terms,cultural terminology,geography,and historical culture-loaded words.At the same time,we use various interpreting techniques,such as literal interpretation,free interpretation,simplification and amplification,and some other interpretation countermeasures.In addition,we conduct research on various aspects such as preinterpretation preparation,research background,and project significance. |
