With the development of economic globalization, the cultural exchange among different countries becomes more and more frequent. The successful transmission of cultural message is an important link in international exchanges. In interpreting activities, the interpretation of culture-loaded words is a great challenge for interpreters, because the speaker and the audience come from different linguistic and cultural environment. The accurate transmission of culture-loaded words will help improve the quality of interpretation and promote the cross-cultural exchanges. This paper discusses the application of "deverbalization" in dealing with culture-loaded words in Chinese-English simultaneous interpretation from the perspective of Interpretive Theory. The founder of this theory Danica Seleskovitch proposed a triangular model for interpreting process and the hypothesis of "deverbalization". According to the model, the interpreting process should include the following stages:understanding, deverbaliztion and reproduction. The essence of this theory is "deverbalization". This theory is very important in guiding the interpreting activity and also helps the interpreters eliminate the obstacles in cultural exchanges so as to ensure the successful transmission of cultural message. This paper is divided into four chapters. Chapter one introduces research background and theoretical framework. Chapter two is a literature review, including the previous studies on this subject and the introduction of interpretive theory. Chapter three conducts a case study with experiment. Through a qualitative and quantitative analysis of research results, this paper comes to the following conclusion:For a speech with many culture-loaded words, the more frequent "deverbalization" is applied in the interpreting process, the higher the interpreting quality will be. The interpreters should learn to get rid of the linguistic package, try to pass on the sense rather than the lingual form of the speech so as to improve the delivery of the interpretation. Chapter four summarizes research results and points out the limitations of the study.
