| The attachment system is closely related to the occurrence and development of children’s mental health problems,and different attachment relationships have different mechanisms on individual psychological adaptation.As the current common family parenting model,grandparenting has changed the family structure dominated by parents,so that grandchildren and grandparents form a stable emotional connection,that is,grandparent-child attachment,and it occupy an important position in the attachment system of children.Based on Morris’ s tripartite model of the impact of the family on children’s emotion regulation and adjustment,this study focuses on the grandparenting of urban children,and uses the questionnaire to explore the influence of grandparent-child attachment on interpersonal anxiety in urban children,and the psychological mechanism behind it.Study 1 used the Kens Security Scale,the Interpersonal Anxiety Subscale and the SelfRegulation Scale to measure the current situation of grandparenting,grandparent-child attachment and parent-child attachment,emotional regulation ability and interpersonal anxiety of 157 urban children,and the mediating effect of emotional regulation ability in the relationship between grandparent-child attachment and interpersonal anxiety,as well as the moderating role of gender.Study 2 explored the role of parent-child attachment and emotional regulation ability in the relationship between grandparent-child attachment and interpersonal anxiety.The first study finds that urban children’s grandparent-child attachment was significantly negatively correlated with interpersonal anxiety.Emotion regulation ability mediates the relationship between grandparent-child attachment and interpersonal anxiety.Gender plays a moderating role in grandparent-child attachment and emotional regulation ability.The second study finds that parent-child attachment and emotion regulation ability play a mediating role between grandparent-child attachment and interpersonal anxiety in urban children,and it includes three paths: the mediating role of parent-child attachment,the mediating role of emotion regulation ability,and the chain mediating roles of parent-child attachment and emotion regulation ability.In summary,this study shows that grandparent-child attachment negatively predicts interpersonal anxiety in urban grandparenting children.Emotion regulation ability plays a complete mediating role between grandparent-child attachment and interpersonal anxiety,meaning children’s safe grandparent-child attachment helps to improve their emotional regulation ability,thereby reducing interpersonal anxiety.Grandparent-child attachment can affect interpersonal anxiety through the chain mediation of parent-child attachment and emotional regulation ability,that is,safe grandparent-child attachment as a positive family environment factor can improve the security of parent-child attachment,and high-level parent-child attachment can promote the improvement of children’s emotional regulation ability,thereby reducing interpersonal anxiety. |
