[Objective]During the aging process, the cognitive function of middle-aged and elderly people will gradually decline, which is specifically manifested by the decline of memory, executive ability and other functions, and the occurrence of chronic neurodegenerative diseases, which will affect the physical and mental health.By observing the changes of cognitive behavioral, neurobiological and other related indicators before and after the intervention of Latin dance exercise for middle-aged and elderly women, this study aims to explore the effect of Latin dance exercise on improving the cognitive function of middle-aged and elderly women,in order to provide theoretical basis for exercise to delay cognitive decline in middle-aged and elderly women.[Methods]Twenty-eight women aged 50-60 years with good physical condition,no long-term regular exercise habit and no Latin dance foundation were randomly divided into control group and Latin dance group,14 people in each group. The Latin dance group adopted Latin dance as the intervention method. The exercise intensity was medium, the exercise frequency and duration were 90 minutes three times a week, and the exercise load was controlled within the range of 60%-80%HRmax for 16 weeks. The control group kept the original life rule without Latin dance intervention.Blood samples were collected before intervention and at 8:00 a.m.on the 16th weekend,brain-derived neurotrophic factor was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).BDNF,insulin-like growth factors(IGF-1),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF);At the same time, the Stroop color word paradigm was used to test the accuracy and interference effect The International Physical Activity Questionnaire(IPAQ)was used to measure the level of physical activity at weeks 4,8,12 and 16.SPSS23.0 and GraphPad prism8.0.2 were used for statistical analysis of the experimental data. After normal distribution test,t-test,non-parametric test and correlation test were used to analyze the changes of data before and after the two groups of experiments.P<0.05 indicates significant change, and P<0.01 indicates very significant change.[Results](1)Before the experiment, compared with the control group, the physical activity level of Latin dance group had no significant change;During the experimental intervention(weeks 4,8,12 and 16),compared with the corresponding period of the control group, the level of physical activity in the Latin dance group was significantly increased, while there was no significant change in the level of physical activity in the control group during the experiment(2)Before the experiment, compared with the control group, the Latin dance group had no significant change in the accuracy and interference effect of Stroop color word task; After 16 weeks of intervention, the accuracy of Stroop color word task in Latin dance group was increased but there was no significant change, and the interference effect was significantly decreased. After the experiment, compared with before the experiment, the accuracy of Stroop color word task in Latin dance group was increased but there was no significant change, and the interference effect was significantly decreased, while there was no significant change in the accuracy of Stroop color word task and the interference effect in the control group.(3)Before the experiment, compared with the control group, the concentrations of serum BDNF,IGF-1 and VEGF in Latin dance group had no significant changes; After 16 weeks of intervention, serum BDNF and IGF-1 in Latin dance group were significantly increased, while serum VEGF had no significant change. After experiment, compared with before experiment, serum BDNF and IGF-1 in Latin dance group were significantly increased, and serum VEGF had no significant change, while serum BDNF,IGF-1 and VEGF in control group had no significant change.(4)Physical activity level was significantly positively correlated with BDNF,significantly positively correlated with IGF-1,not significantly correlated with VEGF,and significantly negatively correlated with Stroop interference effect;Stroop interference was negatively correlated with BDNF,IGF-1,and VEGF.[conclusion](1)Sixteen weeks of moderate-intensity Latin dance exercise can effectively improve the executive function of middle-aged and elderly women, which is specifically manifested by the improvement of the accuracy rate of Stroop color-word task and the decrease of interference effect, and the physical activity level of middle-aged and elderly women is related to the inhibitory control component of executive function.(2)Sixteen weeks of moderate-intensity Latin dance exercise can effectively improve the cognitive function of middle-aged and elderly women, which is manifested by the increased levels of BDNF and IGF-1,and the physical activity level of middle-aged and elderly women is correlated with neurobiological indicators.
