At present, there are many studies on the livelihood transformation of rural society in the folklore circle. Many scholars focus on the perspective of rural folk tourism development and rural cultural revitalization mechanism. In Fanshan Town,Cangnan County,Zhejiang Province, the local alum reserves once accounted for 60% of the world’s total, known as the "alum capital of the world".At its peak,Fanshan town’s industrial output value once accounted for 40% of Wenzhou’s,but in the 1990 s,due to the decline of the bauxite industry,Fanshan town was forced to move towards the road of livelihood transformation. This paper starts with the folklore of Fanshan’s application for the world industrial cultural heritage, focusing on how the local people perceive the cultural heritage, the motivation to participate in the application, and the impact of the application on their daily life. This paper mainly consists of three parts: introduction, five chapters and conclusion. The introduction discusses the folklore research on "Min",the livelihood transformation of "Min",and the related research summary of event folklore. The first chapter introduces the natural environment of Fanshan town and the development of the mining area, combs the history of ore mining and smelting in Fanshan Town, and describes the people’s livelihood of the town from three aspects of medical education, cultural and recreational activities and festivals. The second chapter discusses the process of the shutdown of bauxite mine and the livelihood transformation of the small town. The shutdown of bauxite mine leads to the dispersion of local miners and the serious "crisis" of people’s livelihood in the small town. From the perspective of World Heritage application, the third chapter expounds the origin of "World Heritage Application" and the value and significance of "World Heritage Application".From the promotion of the early World Heritage Application Promotion Association to the active participation of local people in the later stage,it analyzes the participation mode, motivation and dilemma of different groups. The fourth chapter discusses the relationship between the application for World Heritage and the tourism of the small town.Taking Ford Bay,Nanyang 312 adit and the old factory as examples,it is found that in the process of transformation, the application for World Heritage and tourism of Fanshan should be developed synchronously and driven in two ways,so as to better drive the revival of Fanshan. The fifth chapter analyzes the relationship between the event of applying for World Heritage and people’s daily life.People’s cultural memory in the form of words and pictures and communication memory in public space constitute a part of daily life. This collective memory will also become an important part of local spiritual and cultural heritage in the future. At the same time, this kind of culture has been in the process of communication and interaction. After the production of bauxite mine was stopped, the local people tried their best to show the symbolic industrial culture of Fanshan to the outside world, which is one of the living characteristics of the event of World Heritage Application integrating into people’s daily life.In a word, this paper starts from the small town’s application for World Heritage in Fanshan area of Zhejiang Province, through observing and thinking about a relatively complete folk event, and tries to carry out the event ethnography research. In the process of analyzing and explaining the reasons and dynamic mechanism of local people’s participation in the world heritage application,it is not difficult to find that this application practice itself is not only related to the livelihood transformation of Fanshan miners, but also has a lasting and profound impact on their daily life.
