The Collation And Research Of Science And Technology Information In Chongqing Edition Of Xin Hua Daily

The Xinhua Daily,the only publicly available party newspaper of the Communist Party of China in the National Unification Area,was prepared in Nanjing,founded in Wuhan,and eventually moved to Chongqing,and has high research value because of its rich content and diverse topics.This article takes the scientific and technical information in Xinhua Daily as the object of study,and examines in some depth the main contents,characteristics and historical contributions of the scientific and technical information in Xinhua Daily.The article consists of four main parts.The first part briefly introduces the history of the founding and development of Xinhua Daily,while providing a general overview of the scientific and technical information in Xinhua Daily from three aspects: quantity,format and sources.In the second part,which is the core of this article,the author has collated the content of the scientific and technical information in the Xinhua Daily and divided it into three categories: the first is the coverage of Soviet science and technology;the Xinhua Daily not only reported on Soviet Arctic expeditions,but also had a considerable number of articles to introduce readers to the features of Soviet science.The second category is coverage of domestic science and technology,with the Xinhua Daily focusing on the state of industrial technology in the country and the activities of domestic science and technology groups.The third category is the popular science articles in the supplements.The Xinhua Daily opened a variety of supplements on the fourth page of the newspaper,including the "Natural Science" and "Science Page" supplements,which were dedicated to the promotion of scientific knowledge.In the revamped Xinhua supplement,there are also many popular science sections.In the third part,the article summarises the characteristics of the science and technology information in Xinhua Daily,namely the active promotion of Soviet science and technology,the combination of science and technology information with the cause of "building a nation through resistance",and the communication of the Communist Party’s own political aspirations through science and technology information.The scientific and technological information in Xinhua Daily clearly demonstrates the interest of the Communists in the cause of science and technology,as well as their sense of historical responsibility and mission to keep a close eye on China’s future destiny in spite of the difficult circumstances.In the fourth part,the article analyses the historical contributions of Xinhua Daily’s science and technology information.Firstly,through its science and technology information,Xinhua Daily not only disseminated scientific knowledge but also established a good image of the Communist Party;secondly,by creating a science supplement,Xinhua Daily recruited a large number of scientific talents who made great contributions to the scientific career after the founding of New China;finally,Xinhua Daily’s science and technology information also maintained its excellent style of being in close contact with the public,which is worthy of our continuous learning,while its shortcomings also provide rich experience and inspiration for the modern media newspaper business.
