This translation practice report is based on the translation of the preface and chapters I to II of Culture,Crisis, and COVID-19: The Great Reset. The writer presents a new perspective on the status, results and causes of the different responses to the COVID-19 with different cultural backgrounds in China and the Western countries when the pandemic has become normal, with a focus on the role of enterprises in the response and prevention and control of the COVID-19.This report summarizes the problems encountered in the translation process and the corresponding solutions. This text is a general text in the academic category, with an objective attitude and a strong academic focus. The author uses fuzzy rhetoric to improve the aesthetic perception and artistry of the text, which better attracts the readers. The author makes an analysis from the two classifications of fuzzy rhetoric: stable fuzzy rhetoric and temporary fuzzy rhetoric. As for the stable fuzzy rhetoric, the author analyzes it from three aspects: fuzzy nouns, fuzzy verbs and fuzzy adjectives; With regard to temporary fuzzy rhetoric, the author focuses on metaphor, personification and hyperbole. The translator mainly adopts the translation strategies of free translation and adaptation and extends the concept and implication of some words and expressions in the original text in order to achieve the same effect as the original text.Through writing this translation report, the author has a deeper understanding of the definition and translation methods of fuzzy rhetoric in comprehensive texts, and puts forward reasonable solutions based on the summary of translation problems, with a hope to provide corresponding reference for the translation practice of such texts in the future.
