Social anxiety is a kind of negative emotion,which will have a negative impact on teenagers both physically and psychologically,Junior high school students with social anxiety have poor peer relationships,are often afraid of interacting with the outside world,and are unable to concentrate on their studies.Shyness is a psychological phenomenon,mainly manifested as tension,embarrassment,blushing and withdrawal.At present,many researches have been conducted on the relationship between shyness and social anxiety,but no empirical study has been conducted on the mediating role of psychological quality between the two.This study takes junior middle school students as the research object.In this study,915 junior middle school students aged from 11 to 16 years old from the first to the third grade were selected as the research objects,and the relationship between shyness,psychological quality and social anxiety among junior middle school students was empirically studied by using the Shyness Scale for Middle school students,the Psychological Quality Scale for Middle School students(simplified version)and the social anxiety Scale.The results found:(1)The reliability and validity of the Scale of Shyness of Junior High School Students,the Scale of Social Anxiety of Adolescents and the Scale of Mental Quality of Junior High School Students(Simplified Edition)used in the study are high,and applicable to the measurement of junior high school students.(2)Girls have a higher level of social anxiety and shyness than boys.It is necessary to pay attention to the alleviation of girls’ social anxiety and shyness.Students from divorced families need more help on shyness and shyness.Students from urban areas are more shy than students from rural areas.Students from different grades have different levels of shyness and shyness.Therefore,we should pay attention to the alleviation of students’ shyness and shyness and shyness in social anxiety in junior high schools and improve their psychological quality.(3)Relevant results.Firstly,the total score of shyness and its sub-dimensions are positively correlated with the total score of social anxiety and its sub-dimensions.Second,the total score of shyness and its sub-dimensions are negatively correlated with the total score of psychological quality and its sub-dimensions.Third,the total score of social anxiety and its sub-dimensions are negatively correlated with the total score of psychological quality and its sub-dimensions.(4)Intermediary inspection results.Psychological quality played a significant mediating role between shyness and social anxiety.Based on the results of the study,the following suggestions are put forward: First,improve the teaching level of teachers,adopt various teaching methods to improve students’ self-efficacy and reduce students’ shyness and social anxiety in classroom and teachers’ situation.Second,improve the campus environment,build good peer relations,cultivate junior high school students’ peer communication ability,reduce their shyness and social anxiety.Third,schools should strengthen home-school co-education and promote home-school communication.Fourth,to create a warm family atmosphere,to create a good positive family environment,to reduce the level of shyness in the parents situation.Fifth,pay attention to the communication with children,promote children’s good psychological quality. |
