This report is based on Nigerian female writer Abi Daré’s debut novel The Girl with the Louding Voice. The heroine Adunni is brave. Her courage to speak out and her determination to stand up for more girls’ rights are inspiring. In view of the sexism in novel and the prominence of translator’s subjectivity in translation, this report explores the applicability of feminist translation strategies in the Chinese context based on the perspective of feminist translation. The development of feminist translation has not only emphasized the elimination of gender discrimination, but also balanced the relationship between the original text and the target text from the perspective of the translator’s subjectivity.Combined with the feminist translator-centered translation thought, the translator solves the problems encountered in this translation practice through “criticism”,“parallel text” and “cooperation” so that women can appear in the text and show a more positive female image. In view of the fact that this translation practice is a useful attempt to apply feminist translation theory in the context of China,I hope it can further stimulate women’s self-awareness and appeal to more people to pay attention to women.
