Translation Strategies Of Implicit Information In Political Texts From The Perspective Of Adaptation Theory Exemplified By Premier Li Keqiang Meeting The Press In 2022

This thesis takes the translation of Premier Li Keqiang Meeting the Press in 2022 as the research object to study the guiding role of adaptation theory in translating implicit information and the translation methods of implicit information in political texts,so as to provide a theoretical basis for the English translation of the implicit information in political texts,accurately convey the speaker’s meaning,and make the target language more consistent with the linguistic expression habits of the audience.Specifically,this thesis mainly discusses and studies the translation methods guided from the four perspectives of adaptation theory,aiming to accurately and completely convey the implicit information in political dialogues to the target audience.Through the study,the translation methods of implicit information influenced by the adaptation theory can be broadly divided into the methods of free translation under the contextual adaptation,conversion under the structural adaptation,reduction under the dynamic adaptation and addition under the salience of adaptation process,which can reveal the implicit information in political texts to the greatest extent.In the process of conference interpreting,the four methods from the perspective of the adaptation theory can better help learners understand the differences between Chinese and English,which can ensure the accuracy of the interpreting and enhance the readability of the interpreting.
