From the Han Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty,scholars study of the Shijing was always based on Mao Zhuan and Zheng Jian.In the early Song Dynasty,the study of the Shijing exegesis mostly followed the old annotations of Han and Tang Dynasties.When it came to the Qingli period,scholars began to dispense the tradition of the Han and Tang Dynasties,and the trend of doubting the ancient classics and seeking new ideas and differences gradually flourished.These reflected the real situation of the Song Dynasty that scholars seeking breakthroughs in the study of exegesis field.As a representative work of the Zunxu School in the early Southern Song Dynasty,Fan Chuyi ’s Shi Buzhuan not only inherited Mao Zhuan in exegesis,but also revised and issued the exegetical content of Mao Zhuan.At the same time,some words that Mao Zhuan did not explain were supplemented.At present,the academic circles have some research on Fan Chuyi and the version of Shi Buzhuan and Confucian classics that were declared in it.But the research on Fan Chuyi’s exegesis of Shi Buzhuan is not sufficient and comprehensive.This article takes Fan Chuyi’s exegetical content of Shi Buzhuan as the research object,and classifies the exegetical content of words(a total of 1328)and phonetic contents(a total of 1325 words)of Shi Buzhuan except for the complete use of Mao Zhuan.By listing examples,the exegetical methods of Fan Chuyi ’s Shi Buzhuan are discussed and analyzed.It can be found that Fan Chuyi ’s Shi Buzhuan in the selection of exegetical methods is mainly based on semantic exegesis,combined with phonological exegesis and font exegesis,and strives to be reliable and credible.From the exegesis of the words in the first 29 volumes of Shi Buzhuan,it can be found that Fan Chuyi not only respects the tradition of Han and Tang dynasties in exegesis,but also inherits the characteristics of the style of exegesis in the Song Dynasty.On the one hand,in the citation materials of some words,Fan cited slang folk customs and bronze inscriptions,which are the common characteristics of the scholars in the Song Dynasty to explain the classics.This reflects the new changes in the exegesis of the scholars in the Song Dynasty.On the other hand,Fan ’s exegesis has independent thinking,such as the use of exegetical terms is different from the clear usage of other scholars at the same stage,Fan absorbed the experience of exegesis in the Han and Tang dynasties,and paid attention to scientific investigation.And he did not injudiciously make specific and accurate explanations for some difficult words.In addition,in the process of interpreting poetry,Fan widely quoted 57 kinds of literatures,and combined the classics and history to state the meaning of poetry.It can be described as elegant and accessible,respecting the ancient history,and has obvious characteristics of Wuxue.In the thirtieth volume of Guanggu,Fan made a systematic summary of some words in the Shijing from the perspective of font,phonology and semantic,and divided them into3 categories and 10 subcategories,which was not found in other works on poetry in the Song Dynasty.This is not only Fan ’s innovation in the study of the exegesis of Shijing,but also reflects the germinative subject consciousness of scholars of the Song Dynasty which under the new development of the exegesis from the side view.
