An Investigation About "Discussion" Functional Item In International Chinese Language Education

This paper takes the "discussion" corpus in the series of Creation Camp as the main corpus source,according to the common points of different expressions in form,dividing the expressions of "discussion" function project into "talk it over" 、 "ba" word praying sentence、 "or else..." and yes-or-no question sentence four categories,and analyzing four topics from the aspects of grammatical form,semantic scope and pragmatic situation.Through the comparison of various expressions,it is found that the type of expression chosen by the speaker to "discussion" with others is closely related to the speaker’s subjective emotion and the status relationship between the two sides of communication.On the basis of this research,this paper makes a statistical analysis on the arrangement of the "discussion" functional items in the series of textbooks of Short-term Spoken Chinese(Third edition)from topic background and sentence pattern distribution two parts,and then makes a comparative analysis between natural corpus and " discussion" discourse of the textbooks.The statistical results show that there is little variation of the topic background and characters in the textbook;The introduction of communicative situation is unclear;Insufficient knowledge reproduction;Ignoring the selection of expressions "May/shall I...?" and "Can’t you...?";Lack of pragmatic explanation of expression "talk it over".According to the analysis results of textbooks,this paper suggests that when arranging "discussion" functional item,textbooks should clarify the communication situation and indicate the pragmatic conditions,enrich topic background and personal relationship,and pay attention to the selection and reproduction of expression methods.Chinese teachers should pay attention to situational teaching,increase pragmatic explanation and strengthen knowledge reproduction.
